Day 1 - Gravenhurst KOA

Today our adventure officially begins ... Last night I slept well, either because we were so organized and ready to go or because I was delusional in thinking we were organized and ready to go!! We left on time and left home around 9:30 this morning.  I hope we remembered everything!! As we were driving up we had to stop at Weber's for their world famous burgers!! Delicious!!  Then headed up to South Muskoka Golf Course for J's first tournament of the season. He was quite nervous but felt good about how he played, he even parred the last hole. A & I hung out and had a picnic in the parking lot beside some beautiful gardens. Gramma & Grandpa arrived to cheer J on. Me, Hubby & A headed to the KOA in Gravenhurst to set up camp. Here's where things started to go downhill, the trailer battery wasn't charged and the trailer had to be put up manually (with some grumbling, etc). Then the entertaining setting up of the bug tent, second time ever, so by the end of this we'll be pros?? In the meantime, we are entertainment for the pros!!  A learned how to set-up the tent poles while Dad & I set up the trailer. After we were all set-up Dad headed back to the golf course and A and I went to the pool for a swim. By we, I mean A swam and I sat in the sun and watched. Captain Cannonball was there entertaining the kids with his huge cannonballs into the pool. They're going to need to refill the pool tomorrow!! After "our" swim, we went and played in the play ground and by that time we were hungry!! Had meatballs and sauce for dinner. A did a great job washing the dishes after dinner. I taught her how to build a wicked fire and she was a great help collecting kindling. We then made some banana boats in the campfire.  She wasn't too sure about this but once she tried it, she was hooked!!  Bananas stuffed with chocolate chips and marshmallows, wrapped in foil and thrown in the hot coals for 5 min.  J and Dad arrived as we were finishing our last bite! Headed to the pool for a bedtime swim ... Captain Cannonball was back and the kids enjoyed playing in the wake of his cannonballs. It was a quick swim as the air was getting chilly. Made J a banana boat, blogged then bed!! Night all!! I'll add some pics tomorrow. Off to Thessalon tomorrow to see Tracey & Shaun ... Can't wait!!
