Day 10 - Revelstoke, BC

Today we left Banff and headed on our way to Revelstoke, British Columbia. We took the Bow River Parkway, which is a more scenic drive than the Trans Canada. We stopped at Johnson's Canyon to hike to the waterfalls but the trail was closed. We still walked along the river and enjoyed the scenery. The drive again today was breathtaking and photos do not capture the magnitude of the mountains. I felt like a tiny speck in the universe driving along the mountain ranges. We stopped in Kicking Horse for lunch and sat beside the river, while watching the white water rafters as they returned from their trip down river. We arrived in Revelstoke and checked into Canyon Hot Springs Resort. Although, it's a beautiful setting and very clean. It is noisy with long trains passing by every 30 minutes to an hour. Also, they charged us almost $50 to use the pools for the day and $3.00 if we want to shower. Could've stayed in a nice hotel with free showers and pools for about the same amount!! The kids spent most of the day in the pool and even I went in a few times. Had pasta for dinner and then another swim. Used the pool shower to wash my hair for free - not paying $3 for that! Then Crazy Eights and a game of Skipbo before turning in. Off to Maple Ridge tomorrow to see family and friends!! Excited ... 😀
View from the pool.
Even found some time for a glass of wine and my book.
