Glengarry Campground - Day 2

JR
This morning I woke up at about 7:2O because I can’t sleep in the trailer. So I got up and had a breakfast - I had a bagel. We started a fire πŸ”₯ and sat around it for a bit before visiting the beach πŸ–.  Dad went in but I didn’t want to at the moment. We came back to the campsite and got ready for the celebration of life for Uncle Gord at Irvine Memorial Chapel where people talk about Gord’s life. After that we went to Marie Marthes for a bit. We decided to drive back to the campground ⛺️ where Gramma, Grandpa and Auntie Sam came to visit for a campfire. πŸ”₯ On the way back I decided to go in Gramma’s car 🚘. We got McDonalds and DQ for dinner and πŸ₯˜ we came back the the campsite to eat it. But tbh (to be honest)I ate my dinner in the car. We came back and made a campfire we had s’mores and drinks 🍹. Now we’re just sitting by the fire enjoying our second day of our east coast trip πŸ—Ί.

AR
So today is officially the second day on our East Coast Adventure! (We’re still at Glengarry) Today I woke up around 8:05 late for my standards, definitely! I slowly got out of the trailer grabbed some cereal and sat by the fire enjoying the morning breeze. After about an hour of playing by the fire we decided to check out the small beach/river. It was very pretty and peaceful but plenty of people started rolling to enjoy the beautiful beach area! Dad decided to wear his bathing suit and once we got there I really regretted my decision SHOOT, the water was so nice and Mom said I could get my jeans wet so I jumped right in!
Soon later we started getting ready for Gord’s “Celebration of Life”. When we arrived there was a lot of people, and I mean a lot! When it started up many people cried. I didn’t because I never really met Gord. After the memorial we went to a different room and I ate cheese, desserts, and Grapes YUMMY.
Next we headed back the Marie Marthes and talked and had a really delicious police piggy cupcake. Me, Dad, Jack, Gramma, and Mom played a different variety of games. We left a bit later and brought Gramma, Grandpa, and Auntie Sam with us. On the way back we stopped at DQ and Jack stopped at McDonald’s. Later we arrived back at the campsite and went for a short swim then came back to the toasty campfire and roasted some gigantic marshmallows, after that Gramma, Grandpa, and Auntie Sam left and the rest of us just sat by the fire. Me and mom read our books and Jack and Dad listened to music. Well that’s all for the day but we have more tomorrow so stay tuned and goodnight to all.

Me

I woke up today to the sounds of nature and one very early woodpecker working away on his new home. We got up, had breakfast and relaxed by the campfire. Sitting by the campfire makes all the stress and worries in the world disappear. I love it - I love the peace, the relaxation and the happiness I feel sitting by the fire with my family !! We walked along the St. Lawrence and checked out the beach. Matt went for a swim and Miss “A” decided not to wear her swim suit (which she regretted as soon as we got to the beach) and went in the water in her jeans, while “J” and I sat on the shore and watched. Once we got back from the beach we had a quick lunch and headed to the Celebration of Life for Uncle Gord. Our trusty GPS failed us again as we toured Maitland multiple times looking for the ceremony. The GPS insisted it was on the highway between a wall of rocks - pretty sure it wasn’t!! I finally convinced my hubby to pull over so I could ask for directions. I was reminded again of the good in the world when an elderly gentleman at the “Chip Wagon” said he would take us there. I assured him that we just needed directions but he insisted that we follow him. He got in his car and we followed him to the memorial site - a speedy 5 min drive. A quick wave and he was on his way ... small towns, being Canadian - priceless!!  The ceremony it’s self was beautiful and although I didn’t know Gord well, I was reminded of his contagious smile and laugh. We went back to MM’s for a bit and played some back yard games with family before heading back to our campsite. Gramma, Grandpa and Auntie Sam joined us. We splurged and stopped for some fast food and brought it back to eat. Then we relaxed around the campfire and made s’mores. It’s dark now and we’ve run out of firewood - which means it’s time for bed. Night all ... the real adventure starts tomorrow!! Stay tuned ...
