Last night the rain finally let up and we made campfire cones on the fire ... Delicious!! We got off to a later start today and finally made it out of Ontario. Today was a boring driving day ... We visited no neat monuments or sites. I pretty disappointed we missed Husky the Muskie in Kenora but for some reason we didn't see it. We learned that sometimes the GPS doesn't know all and driving through the downtown core of Winnipeg with a trailer is not the best idea!! Made lunch on the back of the trailer in a gas station parking lot and saw lots of flat land and fields. On a positive note we arrived at Braymar RV and Campground around 4pm - not the best campsite (in an open field - no views) but the owners are friendly and the bathrooms are clean and bug free!! Although, showering is totally overrated when camping, I had one and washed all the dirt and campfire smoke off from the last few days. It did feel good to be clean again!! Dinner duty calls ... Pasta with chicken in Alfredo sauce tonight with popcorn popped over the fire. Then a little Skipbo and off to bed. Heard its dropping to eight degrees again tonight!! Gotta find my touque!!

ReplyDeleteHey guys! Sounds like you're having a blast! Can't wait to learn more about Canada from you. And get some great campfire recipes too! We're just heading home from the cottage! I heard it's really hot in Orangeville! Syd learned to wakeboard this weekend, Ry gave me a soothing but messy sand spa in the lake and Liam
ReplyDeletecaught a giant snapping turtle with his spongebob fishing rod! It was huge but old looking! Oh yes, Ry caught a baby toad she named Todd too. Sadie our pup learned to swim and apparently likes to play soccer in the water until her bum sinks and we have to rescue her. The mosquitoes were bad so I know how you feel about the bugs. Have a good camp out tonight, will check back tomorrow for more adventures and to keep in touch!!!! K ( seems like we're using "code names", A and J!
How was your campfire popcorn?! The campfire cones are on our list for this summer too!
