Things I Learned ...

Summer Road Trip - I Learned ...
(In no particular order)
1. Classic rock brings back memories of younger years. We can still rock it out in the car and look cool doing it!
2. Nature makes me feel peaceful.
3. Free wifi doesn't mean fast or reliable.
4. I need more than one sweatshirt regardless of what others say. A light weight winter coat and a toque too!
5. I need to pack less clothes - yup, I said it and put it in writing!
6. Steep mountain roads terrify me, especially when there is no shoulder or guard rail.
7. The pictures I took are beautiful but cannot capture the beauty we saw.
8. I need more photo storage for trips like this.
9. That Canada & the US are absolutely beautiful countries but we've only scratched the surface.
10. People will do anything, I mean anything to make sure they're not driving behind someone pulling a trailer.
11.  KOA is conveniently located next to the highway, you can hear the highway ALL night!!
12. If the bathroom doesn't meet my standards I won't shower and will use the bathroom sparingly.
13. Always remember the 30amp plug when leaving the campsite. Buy a bright yellow one to help!!
14. Things happen - deal with it and move on.
15. Enjoy the good times, forget the problems.
16. When I say let's stop at the outlet mall ... The car usually accelerates and we miss the exit!
17. Eating lunch out of the car saves a lot of money.
18. Spending time with friends & family is priceless, even if it is a short visit.
19. Headphones, DVD players and iPads make the car ride bearable for kids and saves the sanity of parents.
20. Screens are banned when in National Parks and where the scenery is breathtaking - children need to look out the window!!
21. When trip planning we need to add an extra hour a day for bathroom & lunch stops.
22. When trip planning leave a down day every 3-4 days where we can just relax and hangout.
